Anne Bury from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, was shot four times when a man, believed to be her gardener, went on the rampage at the holiday villa in Dalyan yesterday.
The 56-year-old was cornered in the bathroom where she tried to hide after the gunman shot her 87-year-old mother, Cecilia, in the back and her son, Alex, 24 in the leg.
The killer had reportedly threatened to kill Mrs Bury during an argument on Friday.
She informed the police and a man known only as VA was arrested on Saturday and held overnight by police investigating the complaint.
Meanwhile, the family went ahead with plans for a birthday bash and decorated the villa in southern Turkey with bunting and balloons on Sunday.
But the gardener had been released by police the same day and loaded eight rounds into his pump-action shotgun and headed back to the villa in the early hours, it is claimed.
Mrs Bury’s mother was taken to hospital in the nearby city of Fethiye while her son, Alex, was taken to a hospital in the city of Mugla.
A 46-year-old man gave himself up to police and was due to appear in court later today.
The Foreign Office said is was aware of the incident and was providing consular assistance.
The fishing village of Dalyan, set between an inland lake and the Mediterranean Sea, is famed for its ancient rock tombs, natural mud baths and turtle beach.
