In a case that has appalled France and investigators say “defies the imagination”, a baby girl was forced to live hidden in the boot of her parents' car for almost two years!

The tiny baby was found naked and feverish by mechanics who were carrying out repairs on the family's Peugeot 307 car.
The mechanics were alerted to the child’s presence after hearing “strange noises that sounded like moans” coming from the rear of the vehicle.

The mother, 45, a Portuguese woman known only as Rose-Marie, claimed that the noise came from “toys”.
But the men insisted on opening the boot and were horrified to discover a small, dehydrated and apparently feverish child lying naked in its own excrement.

The mechanic who found the girl, Guillaume Iguacel, said today he was still in shock from the discovery. That the girl’s mother appeared to have little concern for her daughter.
He said:

I’m still having trouble sleeping, it was a horrifying sight, seeing this little girl in her own excrement, not able to hold up her head, white as a sheet.  

We were deeply shocked because she (the girl's mother) didn’t find this abnormal. We told her to remove the little girl (from the boot) and give her something to drink right away.

Paramedics were called and the little child was immediately taken to hospital.

The mother told investigators that she had kept the child’s existence from her husband, an unemployed builder, also Portuguese, who police were unable to question straight away given his drunken state.
The mother said she gave birth alone then hid the baby in the boot. It has no birth certificate and apparently no name.

“It appears the child had been hidden from her birth, and even worse is seriously retarded,” said Jean-Pierre Laffite, the prosecutor in nearby Brive-La-Gaillarde.
He said the girl’s height, weight and mental development didn’t conform to her age, estimated to be between 15 and 23 months. She cannot speak a word.

“It’s a situation that defies the imagination,” he added.

The little child's parents have been charged with child abuse and neglect, and social services have taken into care their three other children - a four-year-old girl and two boys aged nine and 10.

The couple, who remain under strict judicial supervision, face a maximum ten-year prison terms if convicted.

As to the motive for hiding the baby, a judicial source said: “(The mother) provided none. That remains the big mystery.”

18years old Girl Gangraped In Bayelsa Commits Suicide

The Nigerian police in Bayelsa has confirmed that an 18-year-old girl committed suicide after a gang rape by three unidentified men last week. One of the young girl's family members, who pleaded for anonymity, said the girl was gangraped last week in Amarata, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. “She was on an errand for her elder sister and was allegedly raped at gun point by three boys who forced her into an uncompleted building. “The girl was devastated after the incident. “After some days she told her sister and the husband her experience. Her sister’s husband who is a Pastor, asked her to describe any of her attackers. “She described one of the boys, but the boy could not be found; I believe Pastor counselled her (the victim). “The pastor has promised to pursue the matter in court. “She swallowed a poisonous substance known as Sniper and she was discovered while groaning in pains and rushed to GloryLand Hospital. “The victim's suicide plot was discovered through the note she dropped before taking the poisonous substance,” . The Spokesman of the state Police Command, Mr Alex Akhigbe, told newsmen in Yenagoa that he believes the deceased decided to kill herself due to the attendant shame and stigmatisation she experienced after the rape incident. He said that the command has launched an investigation into the alleged rape charges filed by the deceased's family.

Speaking to Allafrica.com about the preparation process he went for the contests, Masvinu said no preparation was needed because it all came naturally for him. "My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let them do the rest," he was quoted saying. "A bit of choreography together with his funny clothing helped him on stage but it was all minimum effort," his manager, Michael Gundo, said.

HIV Positive Doctor Rapes Female Patient In Benue

The Benue State Police Command has arrested a doctor for raping a female patient who was on admission in a hospital where he practices. The alleged rapist, Toi (not real name), is a medical practitioner with Tersoo Clinic in Naka town, Gwer West local government area of Benue state. According to Dailypost, the medical personnel had reportedly tested positive to HIV/AIDs and was receiving Anti-Retroviral (ARV) treatment at the General Hospital, Naka, before the incident occurred. Medical sources said the female patient was brought to the clinic for emergency medical attention and after been placed on drip, recovered partially, but the doctor, who took advantage of the fact that she was unconscious, forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. The police public relations Officer in the state, DSP Daniel Ezeala, confirmed the incident, saying, “the medical personnel has been arrested by our men in Naka and investigation on the matter is on-going.”

In an attack that has spread shock and anger across South Africa, two young girls aged just two and three were kidnapped, raped and murdered in the town of Diepsloot, Johannesburg. Cousins Yonelisa and Zandile Mali were snatched from their doorstep in broad daylight, only for their young, mutilated bodies to be discovered days later in a public toilet nearby, on October 15. According to Yonelisa's mum, Thokozani Mali, Yonelisa is her only child. She said that the girls were playing just outside the house and she was checking on them every five minutes. Only for them to go silent. She alerted relatives, neighbours and police, who combed the area – one of the most violent places in South Africa - in a bid to find them. Talking to CNN, Yonelisa's mum said she cannot bear to talk about her loss. She said: ‘I am trying to be strong. When I am sleeping, she always next to me, so when I think of that I feel like crying.’ Five men have been arrested for the kidnap, rape and murder of the girls and briefly appeared at a Pretoria court on Thursday. Their identities have yet to be made public. Public protests followed the discovery of the bodies, with one person holding a banner that read ‘hand these dogs over to us and the people of Diepsloot’. The murder of the girls, and torture of a young boy in Katlehong, were condemned by South African President Jacob Zuma last week. He said: ‘These gruesome incidents of extreme torture and murder of our children do not belong to the society that we are continuously striving to build together. Whilst we appeal to the communities not to take the matters into their hands, we also want to urge them to work with law enforcement authorities to find the perpetrators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.’ There are 55,000 reported cases of sexual violence a year in South Africa, according to the country's Medical Research Council.
